Mayra Bravo-Villarreal serves as a Manager at DTE Energy, a diversified energy company based in Detroit, Michigan, that develops and manages energy-related businesses and services nationwide. In her role, Mayra is responsible for developing and executing regulatory strategies to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations for DTE’s Electric utility.

Mayra joined DTE Energy in 2011 and has since held various roles in Human Resources, Finance Controllers, Customer Service, and Electric Strategy. She holds both an undergraduate degree in Business and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Wayne State University’s Mike Ilitch School of Business. During her time at Wayne State, she was honored with the 37th Annual Student Recognition Award, which is given to outstanding MBA students. Additionally, she participated in an executive program in China to gain insights into the Chinese economy.

In addition to her professional duties, Mayra, a Latina who was raised in Southwest Detroit, is deeply engaged in serving her community. She serves as the Secretary of the Board of Directors at Mercy Education Project in Detroit, a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing education for women and girls from Southwest. She also mentors young women in college through DTE’s Summer Talent Exposure Program (STEP), a summer internship program designed to provide underrepresented college students with corporate experience, business acumen, confidence, and soft skills necessary for success in corporate America.
